SUMINAGASHI is an amazing Art discovered In Japan over a thousand years ago. This art is still practiced in Japan by Living Treasures. Ink is floated on water and these bold or intricate images are picked up onto absorbent papers. We will use black sumi and colored inks with applicators and brushes separated and floated by dispersants of soapy water. These beautiful marblings will be works of art, or can be used for further drawing, book arts, calligraphy, cards and collage. Your imagination will be stirred by this elemental ancient art.
