Yoga 101 - Foundations & Alignment

This class will offer a basic sequence designed for those new to yoga and those who would like to re visit the Fundamentals of thier current yoga practice. I.e.: alignment, breath, and general awareness and presence.

We will move through some basic poses and break down alignment in each space so as to allow each individual to find comfort in their own body and mind as they become familiar with this practice.

The class will begin with a short intention setting talk along with some breath awareness, move through the basic asanas (yoga postures) and end with a short meditation and savasana ( end resting pose)

During class, hands on assists will be offered to better your awareness of your personal alignment. If this is not something you would like please let the teacher or assistants know you would prefer not to be adjusted.

Come with an open mind and an open heart! And just HAVE FUN!

Students can expect: Intention setting, Hands on assists, Needed Props - Mat, 2 Blocks, Blanket & a strap ((not required but very useful especially for beginners)), Teacher will play Harmonium and Chant/Sing a little, students will not be required to chant or sing along. Heavy awareness of Alignment. Short meditation. 

Take this class if: You want to learn a simple foundation to a yoga practice. You want to brush up on your alignment and awareness in your yoga practice.
