Learn to communication thru refining your touch. Ground yourself as a teacher and understand the dynamic of centering between yours and your student’s stance or seat.
The practice of yoga is an art, and spotting for yoga is a dance. You can’t teach what you can’t feel. This clinic is breath based, and teachers will learn to read the anatomy of the student to see which specific muscles are being targeted. You don’t want to simply move your students; you want your spots to be instructive. You don’t want to just touch the outside of the body, you want to learn how to have effect inside the body, and create a dynamic between your center and theirs. We will discuss the moral, ethical, theoretical and practical aspects of spotting; focus on correct body mechanics for the spotter; work on different body sizes and types, including spotting for injuries; and learn to be more efficient by not pushing, but guiding.
All teachers welcome (we would also love a few brave students to receive delicious attention).
